Who Qualifies For A Bursary Or University Student Loan From NSFAS?



The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has officially opened the 2025 application procedure.

Applications at the moment are open and may close on fifteen December 2024.

*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding

To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant should satisfy the following requirements:

• Be a South African citizen or copyright who comes from a house which has a combined gross house earnings that does not exceed R350 000 for each annum.

• People with disabilities qualify if their combined family income would not exceed R600 000 per annum.

• SASSA recipients automatically qualify for funding and wish not post any evidence of income.

*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle

The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open to all South African nsfas status check citizens and permanent inhabitants from homes with combined R350 000 and R600 000 for every annum.

Applicants are reminded to provide the correct Identification Document numbers, names, and surname, as mirrored of their South African ID.

NSFAS only funds individuals who are learning or plan to research in a public university or TVET college in South Africa.
